Funeral services for Patricia “Ann” Thompson Morris, 77, of Edgewood, were held Monday, Jan. 7, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Edgewood. Burial was held after services at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas. Services were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. 

She was born June 17, 1941, in Dallas, to Wesley Bert and Bessie Loraine Davis Thompson. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from Samuel High School.

Graveside services for Michael James Svoboda, 72, of Emory, formerly of Houston, was held Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019, at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston with Lee Maxey officiating. 

Services were under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Graveside services for Virginia Carol Lawrence Heddins, 87, of Edgewood, were held Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at Creagerville Cemetery in Grand Saline.

She was born Feb. 16, 1931, in Sylamore, Ark., to James Franklin Lawrence and Jessie Evelyn Payne. She was raised in Sylamore, Ark. and graduated from Sylamore High School.

She met Kirby William Heddins and they married in 1950. She and Kirby lived in Mesquite. She was a homemaker while raising her two children, Carolyn and Rickey.

Funeral services for Peggy Lou Swepston Carnes, 88, of Fruitvale, formerly of Wills Point, were held Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, at First United Methodist Church in Grand Saline with Rev. Eddie Paul Stanley and Rev. Suzann Ferguson officiating.

Interment followed at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. She passed away early Saturday morning, Dec. 15, 2018, in Tyler.

She was born Aug. 4, 1930, in Dallas, the daughter of Herschel Charlie Swepston and Cleo Alma Vance Swepston. 

Funeral services for Juanita “Lopez” Parker Miles, 94, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. She passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in Kaufman.

She was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Wills Point, to Cherry O’Dell Parker and Ellie Mae Moore Parker.

Services for Robert Owen Roberts, 71, of Austin, were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. He passed away Nov. 28, 2018, in Austin.

He was born Jan. 22, 1947, in Wills Point to Glen and Coylah Evelyn Rosendahl Roberts.

He grew up in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School. He joined the Marines in 1967, and served in Vietnam.

He worked as an architect for 32 years for the State of Texas. He enjoyed reading and history in his spare time.

Funeral services for Melvin “Mel” Keierleber, 95, of Wills Point, were held Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial was at Locust Grove Cemetery. He was born Nov. 5, 1923, in Winner, S.D., to parents, Christopher Frederick Keierleber and Magdalena Becker Keierleber. He was raised in Winner, S.D. where he graduated high school. After high school, he worked for Lockheed Martin Corp. making B-26 Marauders and B-17 Flying Fortress aircrafts.

He served his country in the United States Navy from 1943 to 1945, while being stationed on Ford Island in Hawaii at Pearl Harbor.

Lindy Lee Sledge was born in Wills Point to Bobbye Ruth Lindhorst and Sterling E. Sledge. He attended Wills Point High School until 1963. 

He moved to Stephenville and graduated from Stephenville High School in 1964. Stephenville was his home where he married and reared a family. 

Services for Harry William Day Jr., 82, of Wills Point, were held Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. James Nickell officiating. He passed away Nov. 29, 2018, in Quitman.

He was born Aug. 12, 1936. in Houston to Harry William Day Sr. and Reva Ethel Ritch.

Robin Gail Wheeler, 64, of Fort Worth passed away Nov. 16, 2018, at her home.

She was born Feb. 25, 1954, in Mesquite, to parents Robert Wheeler and Jimmie Raney Wheeler.  She was raised in Mesquite and graduated from Mesquite High School.  She then attended El Centro College in Dallas where she studied business.
