Harold Bryant Sanders

Funeral services for Harold Bryant Sanders, 80, of Ben Wheeler, were held Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point with Pastor Larry Shackleford officiating.

Mr. Sanders passed away Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at his residence in Ben Wheeler.

Paula Rose Vance

1939-2017

Funeral services for Paula Rose Vance, 78, of Wills Point, were held Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating.

Interment followed at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Mrs. Vance passed away Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 21, 1939, in Mesquite to Arton A. Driggars and Mary Ellen Berry Driggars. She was raised in Mesquite and attended Mesquite High School.

She married Leland Dale Vance Dec. 27, 1955, in Mesquite. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, reading and working crossword puzzles.

She lived in Garland before moving to Wills Point 22 years ago. She was a member of the Daughter of the Nile and Eastern Star. She was also a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church north of Wills Point.

Oggie Davis

1960-2017

Funeral services for Oggie Davis, 56, of Kemp, were held Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point with Bro. Ronnie Polley officiating.

Mr. Davis passed away Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, in Dallas.

Leon Baker

1929-2017

Funeral services for Leon Baker, 88, of Wills Point, were held Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with the Rev. Fred Cooper officiating.

Interment followed at New Hope Cemetery.

Mr. Baker passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2017, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 3, 1929, in Wills Point to Fred Baker and Bessie Greenway Baker. He was raised in Wills Point and attended Wills Point High School. He married Selma Rose York Feb. 12, 1953. He was a self-employed cattle rancher. He enjoyed fishing, going to rodeos, garage sales and attending auctions. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bessie Baker; son, David Baker; two brothers, Gene Baker and Richard Baker, and three sisters, Dorothy Burleson, Christine Brockman and Vernell Daughtery.

Jean Weatherford

1938-2017

Funeral services for Jean Weatherford, 79, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Her grandson, Joe Parker officiated.

Interment followed at Creagleville Cemetery near Grand Saline.

Mrs. Weatherford passed away Monday, Sept. 25, 2017.

Roe Wayne Sledge

1932-2017

A memorial service for Roe Wayne “Big Daddy” Sledge, of Terrell, formerly of Wills Point, will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Terrell.

Mr. Sledge went peacefully to be with the Lord at age 84.

He was born in Wills Point Oct. 16, 1932, to Sterling Emmett and Julia Mae Sledge. He grew up in Wills Point and Dallas. He married Elizabeth Charlyne Rankin, daughter of Joe Maxie and Mattie Lu Rankin of Wills Point, Feb. 1, 1953.

During high school, he was the kicker on the football team and center on the basketball team. After a time at Henderson County Junior College, owning a service station with his brother, and living in Tyler, Garland and Mesquite, the Sledges settled in Plano in 1963, where they lived for 22 years.

Juanita Simmons

1926-2017

Funeral services for Juanita Simmons, 91, of Edgewood, were held Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Edgewood.

Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Simmons passed away Sept. 12, 2017, in Corsicana.

Jeanie Faye Barnes

1933-2017

Funeral services for Jeanie Faye Barnes, 84, of Canton, were held Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Bro. Billy Smith officiating.

Interment followed at the Dallas/Ft. Worth National Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnes passed away Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, in Canton.

Geneva Julia Allen

1918-2017

Funeral services for Geneva Julia Allen, 99, of Mt. Vernon, formerly of Wills Point, were held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point with Mr. Randy Reagan officiating.

Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery.

She passed away Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, in Mt. Vernon.

Denith Heddins

1926-2017

Services for Denith Fay Heddins, 90, of Edgewood, were held Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton, with Dr. Mark Moore and Bro. Carlton Young officiating.

Interment was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Heddins passed away Sept. 13, 2017 in Wills Point. She was born Sept.30, 1926, in Wills Point to Walter Heddis and Lula Elizabeth Jackson McEnturff.

She was a member of the Good Hope Baptist Church and the Teachers Retirement System.

She enjoyed cooking, working in her garden, spending time with her family and going out to eat, especially to the Dairy Palace. She retired as the head cook for Edgewood ISD after 27 years of service. She had been a resident at Crestwood for the past six and a half years.
