​​​​​​​Juanita Miles 1924-2018

Funeral services for Juanita “Lopez” Parker Miles, 94, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial will follow at White Rose Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. She passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2018, in Kaufman.

She was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Wills Point, to Cherry O’Dell Parker and Ellie Mae Moore Parker.

She was a life-long resident of Wills Point where she attended and graduated from Wills Point High School.

She married Thurman John Miles on Aug. 27, 1941, raising one child, Pamela. She worked for the Wills Point Livestock Commission of Wills Point, Thurman’s Five and Dime, Mcleod Service Station and Deen Implement, Co. where she did bookkeeping. Later she worked as a teller at 1st National Bank in Wills Point retiring as a bank officer. She was a member of Russell Memorial United Methodist Church. She always put family first and was faithful in remembering special dates.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thurman J. Miles; parents, Cherry and Ellie Parker; brothers, Travis O’Dell Parker and J.A. Parker.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Rhoades and husband, Bob of Forney; grandchildren, Matthew Wade Rhoades and wife, Edelia of Morongo Valley, Calif. and Robin Nicole Brezik and husband, James of Rockwall; and great-grandchildren, Liam and Owen Rhoades and Hannah Nicole Brezik.
