Graveside services for Bobbie Louise Oakley, 92, of Wills Point, were held Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton with Bro. Jerry Truett officiating.

Mrs. Oakley passed away Sept. 15, 2017, in Wills Point.

She was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Aledo to John Walter Hopkins and Madge Lille Newbrough.

She was raised in Wills Point where she graduated high school.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray; daughter, Susan Kimbrew and husband, Virbil.

Survivors include her son, John Kimbrew and wife, Sandie; daughter, Juliette Kimbrew; grandson, Jerome Kimbrew and wife, Jennifer; and great-grandson, Jessie Kimbrew.

Funeral services for Billy Zink Robertson, 80, of Wills Point, were held Friday, Sept. 15, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with the Rev. Don Tisdale officiating.

Interment followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood.

Mr. Robertson passed away Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, at Lake Tawakoni.

He was born Feb. 17, 1937, in Edgewood to John Thelo Robertson Sr. and Denneth Christine Zink Robertson.

He was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1956. He married Dawn Stout Aug. 23, 1959, in the Small Community, north of Edgewood.

He was formerly employed by the City Barber Shop in Terrell and later owned and operated Billy’s Barber Shop in Wills Point for many years, retiring in 2004.

Funeral services for Dr. Charles “Doc” Galloway, of Wills Point, were held Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at International Outreach Church under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point. Dr. Galloway passed away Sept. 9, 2017, in Tyler.

He was born Feb. 15, 1936, in Canton to the late Russell and Romilda Johnson Galloway. He lived in Canton during his early years and moved to Wills Point in the second grade. He graduated from Wills Point High School as Valedictorian. He attended Texas Christian University, East Texas State University and graduated from University of Texas College of Dentistry.

He married Kay Kethan in 1977, in Las Vegas and they were married for 30 years.

Funeral services for Jerry Wayne White, 72, of Wills Point, were held Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brennon Ewen officiating. Interment followed at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton. Mr. White passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, in Athens.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1944, in Frederick, Okla. to Lloyd White and Evalee Avery White. He was raised in Frederick where he attended public school. He moved to Wills Point in 1979. He married Jo Ann Adams Aug. 23, 1983.

He was formerly employed by Pike Construction, Hemphill Construction and was a self-employed carpenter in Wills Point. He enjoyed making things with his hands and collecting “treasures”. He was of the Baptist faith.

A memorial service for Kaye Carney Mercer, 69, of Wills Point, was held Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Associate Pastor Johnathan Terry officiating.

Mrs. Mercer passed away at her home Sept. 4, 2017.

She was born April 28, 1948, in Sherman to Kenneth Lester and Nelda Jean Crook Carney.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Lancaster. She taught at the Lancaster Intermediate School for 20 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, H.H. Mercer Jr.; and her grandparents.

Survivors include her husband, David Mercer of Wills Point; son, Charles David and Ava Mercer of Quinlan; daughter, Brenda Kaye and Johnathan Terry of Midlothian; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Karen Pitalo; brother, Kenneth Carney; and mother-in-law, Patsy Ruth Mercer.

Mr. Britton passed away Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, in Grand Saline.

He was born Feb. 27, 1924, in Edgewood to Tom Dewitt Britton and Daisy Cynthia Mullins Britton. He was raised in Edgewood and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1942 as valedictorian. He married Louise Smith Jan. 22, 1949, in Wills Point.

A gathering of family and friends for Peggy Stowe McManigle, 79, of Wills Point, will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept.13, 2017, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Mrs. McManigle passed away Sept. 1, 2017.

She was born in Sweetwater, Sept. 9, 1937. She moved to Dallas and attended Forest High School and graduated in 1955.

She married Roland Ray McManigle in August 1964, in Dallas. She was a wonderful mother who was loved by many and her home was always open.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Roland Ray McManigle; her mother, Katy O’Dell Stowe Pruitt; and daughter, Donna Kay Swanson.

She is survived by her daughters, Staci Re’ McManigle and Shawn Rea McManigle Miller; son-in-law, Robert Franklin Miller Jr (Bobby); and her identical twin grandsons, Alexander Chance Miller and Ashton Win Miller.

Services for Faye W. Stewart, 80, of Canton, will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at Haven of Memories Memorial Park in Canton under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Mrs. Stewart passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at her home in Canton.

She was born Feb. 18, 1937, in Canton to Harden and Lou Wilhite. She was raised in Canton and graduated from Canton High School in 1954. Shortly after graduation, in August 1954, she married Bill Allred in Wills Point. They lived in Wills Point, where she was a realtor at Allred Real Estate, a substitute teacher at Wills Point ISD and a Cub Scout leader.

She played bridge, golfed and spent as much time as possible with her sisters, Gay Mitchell and Jeri Sullivan.
