Bobbye Thurmon 1923-2015

Funeral services for Bobbye Lindhorst Thurmon, 92, of Wills Point, were held Sept. 13, 2015, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.

Bobbye Lindhorst Thurmon passed away Sept. 10, 2015, at her home in Terrell.  The second of two daughters, Mrs. Thurmon was born April 2, 1923, to Fred and Sadie Waggoner Lindhorst, two miles southeast of Wills Point city limits.

She was the eighth generation of immigrants from old Germany who settled in Illinois. She was a direct decedent of Abraham Lincoln's mother and her great-grandfather worked for the election of Abraham Lincoln's presidency. 

Her maternal great-grandfather, Martin Waggoner, owned the acreage where the City of Wills Point now sets.  He sold the acreage to T&P Railroad before the township was established.

Carolyn Long 1942-2015

Funeral services for Carolyn Jean Simmons Long, 73, of Edgewood, were held Saturday,

Aug. 22, 2015, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Burial followed at Small Cemetery in Edgewood.

Carolyn passed away  Aug. 19, 2015, at her home in Edgewood.

Carolyn Jean Simmons was born on July 16, 1942, in Shreveport, La. to parents, Roy Frank Simmons and Alice Louise Reed Simmons.  She was raised in Dallas where she also attended school until moving to Quinlan.  Carolyn moved to Edgewood and has been a part of the community since 2002.  She worked for Fribrite Company, which is now Cytec Industries and was employed as a weaver for 19 years until she retired. Her hobbies included gardening and redecorating her home, as well as spending time with family.

Carolyn was currently attending Turner Hayden Baptist Church in Wills Point.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alice Louise Simmons, along with a daughter, Cathy Rene Moore.

Geraldine Tyler 1928-2015

Graveside service for Geraldine Mae Tyler, 86, of Weatherford, formerly of Wills Point, was held Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point with Pastor Adam Williams officiating.  Services are under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away early Saturday morning, Aug. 8, 2015, in Ft. Worth.

Barbara White 1947-2015

Funeral services for Barbara Jean White, 68, of Edgewood, were held Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015, at Roundflat Pentecostal Church in Fruitvale with Bro. Homer Morgan officiating.  Interment was at small cemetery north of Edgewood under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away early Tuesday morning, Aug. 11, 2015, in Grand Saline.

Raymond Harvey Brannum 1944-2015

Memorial services for Harvey Brannum, 71, of Wills Point, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 15 at the New Frontier Church in Wills Point off of Interstate 20.

Harvey passed away on July 27, 2015, in Sunnyvale.

He was born on March 29, 1944, in Rockwall, to the late Almous and Edna Lee (Patton) Brannam.

Harvey was a truck driver for most of his life.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marian.

Harvey is survived by his children, Raymond Brannum, Judy Brannum, Carrol Plummer and Cindy Harris; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sisters and a host of special family and friends.

Everett Runte 1934-2015

Graveside services for Everett Runte Sr., 80, of Edgewood, were held Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015, at Small Cemetery in Edgewood.

Everett passed away on July 29, 2015, in Grand Saline.

Everett Dale Runte Sr. was born Nov. 16, 1934, in Rockford, Ill., to Elwin Clifford Runte and Leora Frances Harter. He moved to Texas at a young age where he attended and graduated high school in El Paso. Everett then attended mortuary school in Dallas from 1952 to1953 and later served as a clinical instructor. Everett married Mary Helen Lay in Dallas on Dec. 30, 1965. They lived in many different areas of Texas until settling in Edgewood. Everett later worked as parts manager for U-haul, Ford and Chevrolet before retiring in 1986.

Everett was a member of the Cheatham United Methodist Church in Edgewood where he was a part of the Methodist Men’s Group. He loved his family and enjoyed attending baseball games and embroidering.

Terri McBay 1956-2015

Funeral services for Terri Lynn Boswell McBay, 58, of Edgewood, were held Saturday, July 25, 2015, at New Journey Church of God in Edgewood with Bishop Casey Cook, Minister Peggy Harris and Minister Anthony Prox officiating. 

Interment was at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away early Wednesday morning, July 22, 2015, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Terri was born Nov. 13, 1956, in Oak Cliff, the daughter of Clifford Warren Boswell and Mildred Walker Boswell.

 She was raised in the Oak Cliff area and graduated from Kimball High School in Dallas.

Ina Mae Jones 1928-2015

Funeral services for Ina Mae Jones, 87, of Wills Point are scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, at Wesley Chapel Baptist Church in Wills Point. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Wills Point.

Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Ina passed away on Sunday, July 26.

Rachel Kuster 1936-2015

Memorial services for Rachel Louise Kuster, 78, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.

Rachel passed away on July 18, 2015, at her home in Wills Point.

Rachel Louise Alston was born Dec. 23, 1936, to the late Thomas Jefferson Alston and Blanch Smith Alston.  She married William Arthur Kuster on July 9, 1966, in Oklahoma, and they lived in the Garland area where Rachel was employed as a teller for Bank One (Chase) in Mesquite, for over 20 years.  After Bill retired in 2001, they moved to Wills Point to live near their daughters. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her parents; as well as, her husband, William Arthur Kuster; and her sister, Annella Ivie.
