Funeral services for Verna Mae Wesley, 94, of Terrell, formerly of Wills Point, were held April 12, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Mr. Gene Glaeser and Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. 

Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point.

Mrs. Wesley died early Saturday morning, April 9, 2016, in Terrell.

She was born Aug. 18, 1921, in the Alsa Community north of Wills Point, the daughter of Claude A. Heir and Mary Bell Roberts Heir. 

Funeral services for Nellie Mae Spencer Lyons, 86, of Wills Point, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at Haven of Memories in Canton.

Services are under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

She was the third daughter of seven children of Bud Spencer and Rebecca Smith Spencer. She was born on Feb. 26, 1930.

Funeral services for Mary Lee Morris, 72, of Dallas, were held April 12, 2016, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial followed at Oak Hill Cemetery in Edgewood.

Mrs. Morris died April 8, 2016, in Dallas.

She was born Aug. 15, 1943, in Houston.

A gathering of family and friends for Colby Alan Calvert, 14, of Edgewood, was held Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the home of Mary Stone, 614 VZCR 4516, Ben Wheeler.

Services were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Mr. Calvert died away too soon on April 5, 2016.

He was born Aug. 13, 2001.

Barbara Threatt Glasgow, 82, died Sunday, April 10, 2016, after a brief illness.
In accordance with her wishes, there will not be a memorial service. Those interested are asked to make a donation to the charity of their choice.
Mrs. Glasgow was born June 29, 1933, in Wills Point. She graduated from Wills Point High School in 1950 and North Texas State University in 1970. She taught sixth grade with the Arlington Independent School District for approximately 30 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jack Glasgow.
She is survived by her children, Michael Glasgow, Douglas Glasgow and wife Mona, Steven Glasgow and wife, Marguerite; grandchildren, Alicia Glasgow and Jerred Glasgow; and great-grandchildren, Mariah Prather and Brayden Rowe.

Memorial services for Stephen Earl Adair, 68, of Wills Point were held April 9, 2016, at St. Luke Catholic Church in Wills Point.

Services were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Mr. Adair died April 4, 2016.

He was born June 5, 1947, in Dallas, to parents, Alvis Thomas Adair and Alma Jane Moore.

He was born and raised in Dallas until leaving for The United States Coast Guard.

Jerry Travis Wilcoxson, 82, of Wills Point was born Feb. 23, 1934, to the home of George and Rolene Cantrell Wilcoxson, and died in Mabank April 3, 2016.

Mr. Wilcoxson served in the United States Navy.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughter, Kim Danvers and husband, Bruce; daughter, Tammy McMillan and husband, Wade; daughter, Donna Hale and husband, T. A.; daughter, Paige Hayes and husband, Micah; son, Michael Gaston and wife, Judy; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other family members and many friends. 

Funeral services for Jean Murrey, 87, of Wills Point, were held April 6, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Wills Point with the Rev. Don Myers and the Rev. Don Tisdale officiating. 

Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Mrs. Murrey died April 3, 2016, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Alice, the daughter of Raymond Pratt and Jewell Bowden Pratt. 

Memorial services for Brenda Inez Johnston, 65, of Canton, were held Friday, April 1, 2016, at Crossroads Church in Canton.

Services were under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Mrs. Johnston died March 27, 2016, after a very short illness of cancer.

She was born Jan. 3, 1951, in Wills Point to parents Curtis Chandler and Lola King.

She was raised in Wills Point while attending and graduating from school.

Memorial services for Barbara Ann Lee, 80, of Edgewood, formerly of Gun Barrel City, is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 9, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.

She died April 2, 2016, in Edgewood.

Mrs. Lee was born Sept, 8, 1935, in Independence, Kan., the daughter of Elton Thomas and Anna Mae Slaughter Thomas. 

She was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton and her master’s degree from Sul Ross University in Alpine.
