William Maynard Stidd

1940-2017

A life celebration for William Maynard “Will” Stidd, 76, of Bowie, will be held at the Stidd home at 4 p.m., May 6, 2017.

 Mr. Stidd passed away in his sleep Sunday, April 16, 2017.

He was born Oct. 23, 1940, in Tacoma, Wash. to Lt. Col. Elbert and Maynette Stidd, Ent and DD as everyone knew them. He served in the Air Force after graduating from North Side High School. He enjoyed traveling while in the service and especially loved being stationed in England.

Shelia Ann Malinasky

Robert Lee Upchurch

A gathering of family and friends for Robert Lee Upchurch, Sr., 83, of Edgewood, was held Friday, April 28 at Hiett's Lybrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Mr. Upchurch passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at his home.

Anna Ruth Morris Ralph

1943-2017

Services for Anna Ruth Morris Ralph, 73, of Alba, were held Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home Chapel, Alba, with Bro. George Filpansick officiating.

Burial followed at Colfax Cemetery, Colfax, under the direction of Wilson-Bartley Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ralph passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, in Mineola.

William Stallings

1940-2017

Funeral services for William “Willie” Stallings, 76, of Edgewood, were held Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Edgewood under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

 Burial followed at Small Cemetery. 

Richard Tanner

1965-2017

Funeral services for Richard Myron Tanner, 52, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Steven Newberry officiating.

He passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 3, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Glen Tanner and Linda Marie Giggey Tanner.  He was raised in California and Utah. 

He was a veteran of the Army and was in the Army National Guard for over 35 years.  In September 2005, he moved to Wills Point.  On Nov. 5, 2005, he married Karen MacWilliams in Dallas. He enjoyed shooting high powered rifles in his spare time.  He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A., T.S.R.A. and the V.F.W. He was of the Mormon faith.

Marion David Nutt

1933-2017

Services for Marion David Nutt, 83, of Wills Point, were held Friday, April 14, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Pastor Casey Cook and Pastor Jason Connors officiating.  Interment followed at Highland Memorial Gardens in Terrell. He passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born April 19, 1933, in Avery to James Rufus Nutt and Bessie Beatrice Grady Nutt.  He was raised in Alba, where he attended public school.  He married Ernisteen Holley Oct. 10, 1958, in Dallas.

Lois Estelle Baker

1924-2017

Funeral services for Lois Estelle Baker, 92, of Wills Point, were held Friday, April 21, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.

 Interment followed at White Rose Cemetery.

She passed away Monday, April 17, 2017, in Wills Point.

Jackie Groom

1932-2017

Funeral services for Jackie Lou Hollister Groom, 85, of Mabank, were held Saturday, April 15, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Mabank with the Rev. Brent Williams officiating. 

Interment followed at Elm Grove Cemetery near Mabank under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Ernest Macklin Jones

1942-2017

Funeral services for Ernest Macklin Jones, 74, of Wills Point, were held Monday, April 17, 2017, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point.

Burial followed at Bright Star Cemetery. She passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017.

She was born Aug. 12, 1942, in Sulfur Springs, to Jackson Dunavin and Fleeda Pressley McMinn. She was raised in Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School. She worked as a collector for the Medical Bureau of Dallas for 13 years.

She married Eddie Jones Dec. 16, 1995, in Wills Point. She lived in the Wills Point community for over 30 years. She attended the Chapel of the Lake Church near Lake Tawakoni, enjoyed her word searches and at one time had a pig farm.
