Funeral services for Richard Myron Tanner, 52, of Wills Point, were held Thursday, April 20, 2017, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point with Steven Newberry officiating.
He passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at Baylor Hospital in Dallas surrounded by his family.
He was born Feb. 3, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Glen Tanner and Linda Marie Giggey Tanner. He was raised in California and Utah.
He was a veteran of the Army and was in the Army National Guard for over 35 years. In September 2005, he moved to Wills Point. On Nov. 5, 2005, he married Karen MacWilliams in Dallas. He enjoyed shooting high powered rifles in his spare time. He was a lifetime member of the N.R.A., T.S.R.A. and the V.F.W. He was of the Mormon faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Tanner; and stepfather, Paul Hampton.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Tanner; son, Richard Shane Tanner; and mother, Lacey Tanner all of Wills Point; sister, Angela Riley of Lawton, Okla.; and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Tanner of Enid, Okla.
