William Maynard Stidd

1940-2017

A life celebration for William Maynard “Will” Stidd, 76, of Bowie, will be held at the Stidd home at 4 p.m., May 6, 2017.

 Mr. Stidd passed away in his sleep Sunday, April 16, 2017.

He was born Oct. 23, 1940, in Tacoma, Wash. to Lt. Col. Elbert and Maynette Stidd, Ent and DD as everyone knew them. He served in the Air Force after graduating from North Side High School. He enjoyed traveling while in the service and especially loved being stationed in England.

He worked in the data processing field in the Ft. Worth area before opening Stidd’s Cleaners, a dry-cleaning shop in Keller. He was an avid dirt bike rider-racer and even won an AMA National Hare Scramble championship in 1994

He always had time for a good joke and never met someone he couldn’t talk to. He was married to Kirstan Richards Stidd and they resided in Bowie for the last 11 years. He always finished crossword puzzles in record time and enjoyed reading books. The Stidds traveled to Mexico every year where he could wear his shorts and flip flops and enjoy the sandy beaches. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The Stidds were blessed with many great friends.

Survivors include wife, Kirstan Richards Stidd; sister, Marilyn Curtis and husband, Gerry;  sons, Scott Stidd and wife, Kelley and their daughters, Megan and Robyn; TJ Stidd and his daughters, Kimberly and Kaitlyn and her son, Brayden; stepson, Casey Richards and wife, Renay and children, Clint, Ruby and Finley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
