The Wills Point Tigers participated in their second of three scheduled tournaments last weekend, hosting five other teams for the annual Wills Point Tournament Dec. 7-8. The Tigers would go 0-3 overall during the two-day event, dropping games to Whitewright, Seagoville and eventual tournament runner-up Dallas Christian.

Wills Point opened its tournament run just before noon Dec. 7, taking on Whitewright in front of a large home crowd. The Tigers would keep things close throughout, eventually falling 53-45 to the Class 3A Tigers.

Whitewright set the pace early in the contest, taking a lead of 18-10 after one quarter of play and 30-26 into the half. The two Tiger teams played to a virtual stalemate in the second half as Whitewright edged Wills Point 23-19 down the stretch to close out the eight-point win.
