A graveside service for Rodney Culpepper Jr., 85, of Wills Point was held Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at White Rose Cemetery in Wills Point, with Pastor David Cartwright officiating, under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home.
He passed away Saturday, April 8, 2017, in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 17, 1931, in De Leon to Rodney Culpepper Sr. and Ruby Lois Van Zandt Culpepper. He was raised in De Leon and graduated from De Leon High School.
He was a veteran of the Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He married Elrita Whittington Jan. 20, 1954, in Wichita Falls. He was well known and respected as a professional brick mason. After he retired in 2010, he enjoyed fishing and hunting in his spare time. He lived in Rockwall prior to moving to Wills Point in 1964. He was of the Methodist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elrita Culpepper on Nov. 16, 2014; and his daughter, Linda Kay McCormack on Jan. 21, 2005.
He is survived by his son, Rod Culpepper of Wills Point; daughter, Lisa Rogers and husband, Sam of Palestine; grandchildren, Calvin Fellers, Jeff Fellers and Chris Hendricks; and great-grandchildren, Jayden, Payton and Kalie.
