Offense struggles in 46-23 home loss

The Van Lady Vandals delivered a virtuoso performance on the defensive end of the court during play against Wills Point, allowing no made field goals and just two free throws in an impressive 46-23 win over the Lady Tigers Jan. 27.
Led by four points from Catherine Gisore, three from Macy Rucker, and two each from Lacey Cates, Grace Santos, Makiah Dodd and Hannah Scott, Van built up a 15-1 lead after one quarter of play.
The game turned into a runaway in the second as the Lady Vandals outscored Wills Point 13-1 over an eight minute stretch to cruise into halftime with a 28-2 lead.
Wills Point's Addison Prather scored six points for the Lady Tigers in the third quarter, including the team's first field goal to move her team to within 36-14 entering the fourth quarter.
