Lady Tigers fall to Bearettes, Rains

The Wills Point Lady Tigers moved two steps closer to hitting the home stretch of District 13-4A play, hosting the Brownsboro Bearettes and Emory Rains Lady Cats during the past week.
Brownsboro, ranked 14th overall in the latest Texas Girls Coaches Association Weekly 4A Poll, jumped to an early double-digit lead against the Lady Tigers before cruising to a 61-27 win Jan. 13.
Led by Tiara and Tamaria Manning, the Bearettes jumped to a 25-7 lead after eight minutes of play. Wills Point tightened up their game on the defensive end of the court in the second quarter, holding Brownsboro to just eight points. Entering the half, the Lady Tigers trailed 33-11.
Brownsboro continued to pull away throughout the second half, outscoring Wills Point 12-9 in the third quarter and 16-7 in the fourth quarter to take home a 61-27 win.
