Chamber continues support for local businesses
The Wills Point Chamber of Commerce has been a major proponent of shopping local to support small businesses in the area, actively pushing national events like Small Business Saturday as well as creating its own buzz with the implementation of the BRICK$ BUCK$ promotion.
Small Business Saturday, a shopping holiday conceived and launched by American Express to promote local small businesses, will celebrate its sixth anniversary Nov. 26. The event stresses the ideas of promoting local small businesses.
The chamber noted, “The goal is to grow Wills Point, generate interest and excitement in our community and to provide our small businesses visibility that the power in numbers can create.”
BRICK$ BUCK$
Beginning in 2014, the Wills Point Chamber and local participating businesses have teamed together for a BRICK$ BUCK$ promotion designed to encourage shopping local. As part of the promotion, customers of participating businesses were given tickets, one of which was worth $5,000 for a lucky person.
Earlier this year, the chamber announced the annual BRICK$ BUCK$ promotion had been tweaked with three prizes being presented totaling $6,000.
