Juan Davila Jr. 1928-2016
A requiem mass was held for Juan Davila Jr., 88, of Terrell, July 29, 2016, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Terrell. A rosary service was held the evening before at the church.
Mr. Davila died July 26, 2016.
He was born on Jan. 28, 1928, in San Benito, to parents Juan Davila Sr. and Guadalupe Moreno. He graduated from Brownsville High School. He married Margaret Frances Scott on July 21, 1950, in Brownsville and they moved to Irving in 1955. They moved to Terrell in 1966 where they made their home and he resided until his death.
Mr. Davila worked as a plant supervisor for Vistawall in Terrell for 23 years. He continued working in Mesquite and retired in 2004.
He was a lifelong Catholic and member of the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church. During his lifetime he served as a Boy Scout leader, peewee football and baseball coach and long-time member of the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Frances Davila; parents, Juan Davila Sr. and Guadalupe Moreno Davila; sister, Anita Vera; daughters, Nancy Davila and Juanita Marney; and grandson, Brian Ray Lemly.
He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Webster and her husband, Charlie of Wills Point, Melissa Simons of Glenn Heights and Rose Crocker of Grand Saline; sons, Richard Davila and his wife Debbie of Mesquite, David Davila and his wife Elva of Midland and John Davila and his wife Melissa of Huntsville; along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
