Indian missionary to speak at Missions Conference
Kitchen detail gets ready for missionaries. Jeff and Dawn Blanco and Associate Pastor Heath and Katherine Gregory will head up the meals being offered for free during the four day Missions Conference at Followers of Christ Church next week.
Followers of Christ Church will be holding its 19th annual Missions Conference May 25 through May 28.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Pastor Tom Oothappan from India, a graduate of the Dallas Christ for the Nations Institute.
Pastor Tom along with his wife, Sushan, have devoted their lives to planting churches throughout the southern Indian region. They also minister to widows by teaching them a trade, as well as running an orphanage.
Pastor Tom has attended the conference now for many years and will be sharing some of his experiences, organizers said.
On Wednesday, May 25, the Welcome Missionaries meeting will begin at Followers of Christ Church with a meal being brought by Shepherd House Family Church at 5 p.m. The service will follow at 6:30 p.m.
The rest of the daily meals are being provided by FOCC for free for the missionaries and all who come to hear them speak, organizers said.
Meetings on the May 26 and 27 are scheduled for 9 a.m., 3 p.m. and 6: 30 p.m. following meals served in the fellowship hall.
A send-off service is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, May 28.
