Barbara Lee 1935-2016
Memorial services for Barbara Ann Lee, 80, of Edgewood, formerly of Gun Barrel City, is scheduled for 11 a.m. April 9, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point.
She died April 2, 2016, in Edgewood.
Mrs. Lee was born Sept, 8, 1935, in Independence, Kan., the daughter of Elton Thomas and Anna Mae Slaughter Thomas.
She was raised in Amarillo and graduated from Amarillo High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in Denton and her master’s degree from Sul Ross University in Alpine.
She was married to Delmos Hickmott for 17 years. She was a partner in a gallery in Athens and had worked at several colleges in the pottery labs.
She was also employed by the Old City Park in Dallas, where she was a master potter retiring in 2008. She enjoyed pottery/playing in the mud and sewing.
She lived in Gun Barrel City prior to moving to Edgewood three years ago to live with her daughter, Stephannie. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Anna Mae Thomas; and two great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Lee Hickmott of Levenworth, Kan., Ellen Sue Scott of Odessa and Stephannie Carol Markham of Edgewood; one brother, Gregory Thomas and wife, Cathy of Amarillo; and six grandchildren, Felicidi Scott-Fulford, Chariti Scott-Burns, Joseph Markham, Joshua Woods, Ashley Link and Lillian Burns.
