Van students visit VZC Library Storytime

Students got to make a paper plate fish and used jewels at VZC Library Storytime May 6.

During a busy morning May 6, the VZC Library entertained special guests, students in the Van ISD Headstart program.

Two Storytime sessions were held for the students. The first group heard stories about moms and fish. The craft of the day was a paper plate fish with sparkly jewels used as scales.

The group from Van heard stories about Pete the Cat, which are always a big hit with the pre-school set.  Ms. Rhonda even wore a Pete the Cat shirt just for the occasion.  After hearing “Pete the Cat and his Magic Sunglasses” the children made a sun wearing sun glasses refrigerator magnet to take home.

Sleepover planned at VZC Library

A special event for pre-school Storytime is planned for late in July.  Remember last year’s stuffed animal sleepover?  The animals enjoyed it so much it will be repeated.

On Thursday, July 28, 2016, the animals will arrive at the VZC Library, spend the night, and be picked up Friday, July 29, with breakfast snacks being served to their owners while they share adventures they had while staying overnight. Mark the calendar now!

The library is a “cool” place to visit this summer.  WiFi is available, computers are operational, and as always, lots of books offer a great place to spend some time.
