David Guynn 1960-2018
David Wayne Guynn, 58, Wills Point, passed away Nov. 2, 2018 in Lubbock.
He was born March 21, 1960 in Lubbock to Charles Evans Guynn and Rachel Velma Rogers Guynn. After moving around the United States, the family settled in Tyler where he graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He met and fell in love with Lisa Kay Settles Guynn. They were married on June 21, 1982 and together they had two sons. He joined the United States Navy in 1983, working as an Aviation electronics technician. After being discharged in 1989, Petty Officer 3rd Class David Guynn moved his family to Wills Point, and there they made a family home. He loved teaching, working with his hands and riding motorcycles. He also loved flying kites, especially with his sons. He was a member of the Edgewood Church of Christ and loved sharing God’s word with family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa Settles Guynn; father, Charles Evans Guynn; and niece, Kaysie Amber Guynn.
He is survived by son, Jason Brandon Guynn and wife, Molly, of Lewisville; son, Justin Buchannon Guynn and wife, Krystene’ of Gainesville; grandchildren, Eleanor Lea Guynn, Madeline Elise Guynn and JohnDavid Christopher Guy Christopher Guynn; mother, Rachel Velma Guynn of Lubbock; brother, Charles Douglas Guynn and wife, Kimberly, of Odessa; sister, Danya Rae Guynn Sammons and husband, Michael, of Lubbock.
A memorial celebrating his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Nov. 27, 2018 at Edgewood Church of Christ with Mr. Larry DeLong officiating.
