​​​​​​​Candy Pettus 1929-2018

Funeral services for Candy Pettus, 89, of Terrell, formerly of Wills Point, were held Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ in Terrell with Mr. Russell Harris officiating. Interment was at Oakland Memorial Park in Terrell under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.

She passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 8, 2018, in Mesquite.

She was born Sept. 4, 1929, in Wills Point, the daughter of Marvin and Beulah Stafford.  She was raised in Wills Point and graduated from Wills Point High School. 

On Nov. 3, 1949, she married Benny Boyd Pettus in Terrell.  She was owner/operator of Shamrock Florist in Mesquite, retiring in 1978.  In 1985, they moved to Terrell. 

She was very competitive and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and was a Dallas Cowboy fan. She was a member of Rockwall and Brin Church of Christ in Terrell.  She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Beulah Stafford; husband, Benny Pettus on Feb. 26, 2013; infant daughter, Donna Gail Pettus and all eight of her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by sons, Rex Pettus and wife, Laveta, of Canton and Gary Pettus and wife, Janie, of Terrell; four grandchildren, Zach Pettus and wife, Kelly, Zebulon Pettus and wife, Kim, Krystal Kobelia and Zach Kobelia; five great-grandchildren, Zariah Pettus, Aden Pettus, Kasia Pettus, Kylie Pettus and Chevy Kobelia.

Pallbearers were Darrell Mercer, Greg Everett, Terry Hodge, Brad Finley, Billy Butler and Frank Butler.
