Funeral services for Robert Lee “Bob” Barker, 88, of North Richland Hills, formerly of Wills Point, were held Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018, at Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church in New Edinburg, Ark. with Dr. Gene Lindsey officiating.

Interment was at Reaves Cemetery in New Edinburg under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. He passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 21, 2018, in Fort Worth.

He was born July 15, 1930, in New Edinburg, Ark., the son of Dale Barker and Lydia Belle Thompson Barker.

He was raised in New Edinburg and graduated from New Edinburg High School. He later attended Chicago Tech where he received an undergraduate degree in construction. Heb was a veteran of the United States Army.

On May 23, 1953, he married Elizabeth Mae Cook in New Edinburg. He was a self-employed carpenter for several years, retiring in 1992.

He enjoyed gardening, building furniture, and cabinets. He was a 32 1/2 Degree Mason and a member of Carpenters Local Union 429.

He lived in Wills Point from 1978 to 2016 prior to moving to North Richland Hills in April 2017. He formerly attended Calvary Baptist Church in Wills Point.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Lydia Barker; brother, Grady Barker and two sisters, Janet Huddleston and Barbara Martin.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Barker, of North Richland Hills; son, Terry Barker and wife, Karen, of Keller; daughter, Jennifer Horton and husband, Michael, of Mansfield; four grandchildren, Colby Horton, Nathan Barker, Caleb Barker and Courtney White; four great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Reese, Cheyenne Horton, Baileigh White and Brittain White

Pallbearers were Danny Huddleston, Barry Huddleston, Marty Huddleston, Jeremy Grider, Brent Huddleston and Joey Martin.
