​​​​​​​Monnie Furrh 1937-2018

Funeral services for Monnie Idella Valentine Furrh, 81, of Wills Point, were held Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home in Wills Point. Burial followed at White Rose Cemetery. She passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018.

She was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Edgewood, to parents, Raymond Henry Valentine and Opal Viola Baugh. She was raised in Edgewood where she graduated from high school.

She met and married William Perry “Buddy” Furrh on Sept. 24, 1955, at First Baptist Church in Wills Point.

He served in the United States Marine Corp and they lived in various cities around the Metroplex and enjoyed their farmhouse in Wills Point.

She was a homemaker and had many hobbies that she enjoyed. She loved gardening and wrote poetry, arts and crafts, and antique flea market junking. She was an attendee of Seven Oaks Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Opal Valentine; her husband, William Perry Furrh; and sister, Guinave Hawkins.

Monnie is survived by her sons, Terry Furrh and wife, Elizabeth, of LaRue and William Perry Furrh, Jr. and wife, Kathy, of Kilgore; daughters, D’Ann Nimmo and husband, John, of Wills Point and Kathy Lynne Wiggins of Fort Worth; brothers, L.G. “Buzzy” Valentine and wife, Suzette, of Edgewood, R.H. “Buddy” Valentine, Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Edgewood and Jesse Valetine and wife, Diana, of Edgewood; sisters, Selma Dawson of Canton, Mae Valentine of Mesquite, Fay Chitty and husband, Ronnie, of Wills Point, Skippie Lou Walker and husband, Gene, of Forney and Ruth Sellers and husband, Dennis, of West Virginia; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
