Netters win bi-district championship

Katelyn Bryant returns a backhand cross court during doubles play with partner Sawyer Sewell. Bryant and Sewell swept their match against Ferris, 7-6, 6-1.

 

 

The Wills Point Tiger tennis program made quick work of its rain-shortened bi-district round matchup against Ferris last week, winning all 10 matches played to advance once step closer to another appearace at the State Tennis Tournament.

-Marisa LaJone/Bretchje Schipper def. Graciella Gambino/ Leah Lorado, 6-0, 6-1

-Katelyn Bryant/Sawyer Sewell def. Catalina Coronado/Dayalena Delagadillo, 7-6, 6-1

-Dakota Willis/Abby Kreil def. Dominic Garcia/Sachell Chavez, 6-2, 6-1

With their bi-district round win, the Tigers advanced to take on Kilgore in the Area round. Matches against Kilgore were scheduled to be played at the Lion Tennis Center in Ennis.
