Suspect arrested on burglary charges

 

 

On Sept. 12, the Wills Point Police Department was dispatched to 301 Corky Boyd Avenue in reference to a possible burglary of a building. Upon arrival, officers determined that several storage units had been burglarized and numerous items were stolen.

The following day information was received that stolen items from the storage units were witnessed at a residence on Raw Hide Road, just inside Hunt County. After researching the information given, it was determined that Michael Milner had an active parole warrant for Burglary of Habitation and resided at the residence on Raw Hide Road.

WPPD, the Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, and Canton Police Department investigators arrived at the residence to follow up on the investigation. Once at the residence it was determined that Milner was inside the residence and taken into custody.

While entering the residence to make the arrest, several items reported stolen from the storage units were observed in plain view. The known stolen items were recovered. Suspicious items believed to possibly be stolen at the residence were documented.
On Sept. 14, the suspicious items were confirmed stolen and WPPD returned to the residence and recovered the remaining stolen items with the assistance from Hunt County Sheriff Office.

As of press time, Milner was listed as an inmate of the VZC Jail on Burglary of a Habitation charges. No bond amount has been posted.
