Jerry Beck 1943-2018
Jerry D Beck, 74, a lover of God and family, stepped into glory on Feb. 6, 2018 with loved ones by his side.
He was born in Wills Point in 1943. He graduated from University of North Texas in 1968. He married (Eve)Lyne Loechel in 1975 and together they raised a son, Jeremy Curtis Beck, and two daughters, Breanna Lyne Tomlin and Sabrina Ursula Beck, all who survive him along with grandson, Colton Vance Tomlin, and granddaughters, Desirée Lyne Griffin, Vail Summer Beck and Hadley Jade Tomlin.
He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Solon Beck, his mother Alma Mott Beck, and brother, Harold Beck. He is survived by his brother, Tommy Lynn Beck and “sister” Martha Osban and another “brother” Don Dawson.
He and Evelyne settled in Coppell in 1975 and moved to Southlake in 1993 where they still reside.
He helped so many people throughout his life and loved nothing more than being with those he loved. He had a BIG personality and BIG dreams and fulfilled many of them as he built a successful business. He worked diligently for his wife and children and possessed great affection for his grandchildren. A high school quarterback who maintained many childhood friendships. He was a loyal and loving friend to many and built a brotherhood with his fellow brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity where he also served as a pledge trainer. A lifelong lover of animals from a childhood skunk to his numerous dogs including Sig, Ep, Duchess, Pepper, Foxy and others to his wild raccoon family at Possum Kingdom Lake which he tamed and hand fed until the end. A Christian with a deep faith, he was a member of White’s Chapel United Methodist Church of Southlake.
He left a lasting legacy of love, loyalty, faith, and devotion. He will forever be missed.
A memorial service was held at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 12 with a reception gathering preceding services. Internment was immediately following service at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville.
