Despite the rain and cold weather last Wednesday a good crowd turned out for the first of the two giant give-away drawings sponsored by the Wills Point Chamber of Commerce and sixty participating members. Thirty people went home with dressed turkeys weighing approximately 10 to 14 pounds each. The next give-away is planned for Saturday, December 9.

Wills Point eighth grade cagers defeated Kaufman in a game here Monday night 60 to 5. Ronnie Travis was high for the game with 12 points, followed by R. Davis and C. Cannefax with 8 each. Following the eighth grade game the two freshman teams battled to a 53-11 victory for the local crew. High scorer was Lybrand with 22 points trailed by Hayden and L.W. Smith with 14 each.

Cradle Roll: Mr. and Mrs. Norman Strawn are the parents of a son, James Arnold, born Nov. 25. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. F.F. Lea. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Dale Moon, announce the arrival of a son, Jerry DeWayne, born Nov. 29. Mrs. Moon is the former Miss Sandra McLeod, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph McLeod. Pfc. and Mrs. Donnis K. Willis announce the arrival of a daughter, Carol Jean, born Nov. 25 in Canton, Ohio. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. T.E. Willis and Mr. and Mrs. Jessie R. Franklin of Denison. Mrs. Willis is the former Carolyn Franklin. Pfc. Willis is stationed in Germany with the U.S. army.

Rev. Richard R. Flowers student at Brite College of the Bible, Texas Christian University, has been called by the Board of the Christian Church ‘s new minister. Rev. Flowers comes from the pastorate at Morristown, Ohio, church while he was a student at Bethany College in West Virginia. The new minister will reside at the parsonage on Pecan Ave. on the week-end and attend classes in Fort Worth during the week.
