To be or not to be a beekeeper

So you think you want to be a beekeeper? Pick up some lessons learned from a "new-bee" beekeeper at the Van Zandt Library Series "Beginning Beekeeping" at 10:30 a.m. July 20. This presentation will focus on what you need to know before jumping into the apiary world. Learn fun facts about bees, the parts of a beehive, the life cycle of bees, the costs associated and much more.

The presentation will be facilitated by Master Gardener Vegetable Specialist Nancy Szabo. Gardening has long been a hobby for Nancy who moved to Texas from Ohio three years ago. She became a Master Gardener to learn gardening techniques in this very different climate. Bees are a major help in the garden and four beehives keep the garden well pollinated, said Szabo.
