This Week in Wills Point History

Friday, June 16, 1961

An evening of wonderful fellowship was enjoyed at the reunion of the 1941 graduating class of Wills Point High School, Saturday, June 10, when members of that class met at 7 p.m. at Russell Memorial Methodist Church. A catering service prepared and served a delicious meal before the group got around to the real business of the evening, that of finding out what had taken place in the lives of all those present during the twenty years since graduation. Welcoming the guests in the receiving line were Mr. and Mrs. James Brockman, Travis Parker, Buck Blasingame and daughter Jeannie and Mrs. Ralph Liston. Johnny Pratt served as master of ceremonies and introduced the class members. Superintendent of the Wills Point schools, R.M. Hooks and Mrs. Hooks were guests. Mr. Hooks gave the invocation. The speaker’s table was centered with a beautiful arrangement of pink carnations placed there in memory of departed members of the class. They were Clyde Hubbard, Dorothy Scott, Dorothy Sinclair, Mrs. Buck (Thelma Rita Livesay) Blasingame, J.C Stroud, Max Parker and Hollis Smith. Name tags, were made and presented to each member of the class by Mrs. Ralph Liston. (See newspaper for complete article.)
