Memorial services for Hulan Riley Gunter, 96, of Wills Point, were held Monday, May 15, 2017, at Edgewood Church of Christ with Mr. Larry DeLong and Mr. Ken Maddox officiating. 

Interment followed at Rock Hill Cemetery under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home.

Mr. Gunter passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, in Grand Saline.

He was born July 2, 1920, in Wills Point to Sam Gunter and Lottie Eskew Gunter. He was raised in Wills Point where he attended public school. He was a veteran of the Army and had served during World War II.  In May 1947, he married Lillian Francis Moore. He lived in Dallas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1962. He was formerly employed by Dallas Plumbing for 28 years and was also a farmer. He enjoyed baling hay and raising cows.  He was a member of Edgewood Church of Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lottie Gunter; wife, Lillian Gunter; two brothers, T.V. Gunter and Lloyd Gunter; and sister, Ruth Gunter.

Survivors include daughters, Linda Kerr and husband, Randy, and Iva Thompson; grandson, Chris Kerr and wife, Jennifer, all of Wills Point; and great-grandchildren, Jordan and Whitney Kerr.
