Search underway for missing Quinlan man
Family, sheriff appeal for anyone with information to come forward
A search was underway at press time Wednesday morning for a Quinlan man who went missing Friday, March 10.
Michael Chambers, 70, was seen on video from Quinlan Walmart Supercenter entering and leaving at about 11:15 a.m. Friday, according to Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks.
Meeks said in a news conference Monday it was believed that something happened to Chambers between noon and 3 p.m. at his home in the 7000 block of FM 2101.
His office was notified of a missing person at 6:55 p.m. on March 10.
“Upon arrival the sheriff’s office made contact with Rebecca Chambers who stated that she had spoken to her husband earlier that day around 8 a.m., and when she returned home a few minutes prior to the call, he was nowhere to be found.,” Meeks said. “Once an initial check of the area was conducted, the Criminal Investigation Division was called, and eventually, we requested the assistance from the Texas Department of Corrections K-9 team out of Bonham, Tex., as well as the Department of Public Safety air unit out of Garland, which is equipped with heat signature equipment.”
He said after searching well into the night, there was no sign of Chambers, and the search was called off.
