Tigers open District 13-4A play

The Wills Point Tigers began their march to a potential playoff berth during the past week, opening District 13-4A play with home dates against Brownsboro and Emory Rains. Wills Point finished the week with an 1-1 record, dropping a game against the Bears before picking up their first win against the Wildcats.
Wills Point took on Brownsboro Jan. 13, struggling to find offensive rhythm in a 59-32 loss to the Bears.
Brownsboro jumped out to a big lead early, outscoring the Tigers 16-5 after one quarter of play. Another 16-point offensive effort by the Bears in the second quarter pushed the Bear advantage to 32-15 entering the half.
With eight players registering points on the night, a balanced Brownsboro attack continued to push the lead further in the third and fourth quarters to take home the 27-point victory.
