Suspect arrested on drug related charges

The Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office issued a post on their Facebook page Jan. 13, announcing the arrest of 67-year old Michael Joe Goggans of Edgewood on five felony charges carrying a total bond of $350,000.
The arrest was conducted through the cooperation of multiple agencies, including the VZC Sheriff's Office narcotics division, Canton Police Department narcotics division, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
Goggans was arrested at his business on three charges of delivery of a concealed substance. A subsequent search of the suspect’s residence "uncovered a cache of weapons and a multitude of prescription pills. Two more delivery charges were added to Goggans book in. Also located on the property were stolen items to include multiple trailers, a lawn mower and other items located with the assistance of Van Zandt County Constable Precinct 4…The investigation is still ongoing at this time pending further criminal charges.”
