The Wills Point Lady Tigers will need to make up ground quickly if they plan on reaching the postseason this season, dropping games against both Mabank and Van to fall to 0-2 overall in District 13-4A play.
Wills Point opened district play against Mabank Jan. 7 after a surprise snowfall delayed their original Jan. 6 contest. The Lady Panthers did not let the cold outside impact their offensive firepower in the game, hitting seven first half three-pointers en route to a 57-21 win.
Mabank took advantage of a sluggish Wills Point start in the game, racing out to a 15-0 lead midway through the first quarter. After eight minutes of play, the Lady Panthers held a 20-3 lead over the Lady Tigers.
