Visitation service for Jerry Lee Sims, 71, of Wills Point, was held Friday, Dec. 30, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. 
He passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 28, 2016, at his residence in Wills Point.
Mr. Sims was born May 23, 1945, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of William and Euline Dunagon Sims.  He was raised in Duncanville, where he attended public school, but lived in Wills Point most of his life.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during Vietnam.  On March 13, 1970, he married Carol Ann Huff in Wills Point.  He was formerly employed by Metal Tech in Garland and retired from Terrell State Hospital in 2011.  In his spare time, he enjoyed taking cars apart and building things.  He was of the Baptist faith. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Eulene Sims; wife, Carol Ann Sims on Oct. 7, 2008; and a brother, David Sims.
He is survived by son, James Lee Sims and wife, Betty, of Wills Point; daughters, Christina Nelson, of Wills Point and Sylba Bold and husband, Robert, of Granbury; sister, Eugina Jones, of Raleigh, N.C.; seven grandchildren, Amanda Sims, James Lee Sims, Jr., Brianna Nelson, Zachary Nelson, Dakota White, Kirsten Manning and Tristin Manning; five great grandchildren, Betty Sims, Jamieson Sims, Serenity Sims, Kristopher Wheeler and Ellia White.
