Rodberg doubles up on All-State honors

Sloan Rodberg

The Texas Associated Press Sports Editors released its list of All-State High School Football Teams earlier this week, honoring the best players from around the state in every classification.

Senior Sloan Rodberg, already named the District 6-4A MVP following Wills Point’s perfect 5-0 record in district, was honored twice by the APSE for his stellar all-around season. In 12 total games played, Rodberg finished his season with 217 tackles, an interception, a blocked punt, nine caused fumbles and a fumble recovery on defense, and added three carries for 14 yards and a touchdown and seven catches for 86 yards and another score on offense.

With his performance, Rodberg was selected as a member of the 4A All-State First Team Offense and also named a member of the Honorable Mention 4A All-State Team on defense.
