Memorial services for Karen Kay Forester, 55, of Wills Point, were held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, at Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point, under the direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home.

Her memorial was a celebration of life to remember the joy she brought to those around her. Mrs. Forester passed away Nov. 15, 2016.

She was born April 1, 1961, in Atlanta to James Roy and Mary Carolyn Solley. She was raised in Garland and graduated from Garland High School in 1980. She married Rick Forester in Garland, Jan. 5, 1979, where they lived until moving to Wills Point 25 years ago. She was very involved in the community and was known by her grandkids as “Nena.”

 She co-founded the ABC room in Van Zandt County and served as president and vice president over the course of 15 years. In 2005, she received the Presidential Volunteer of the Year award. She was a member of the Russell Memorial United Methodist Church in Wills Point. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as all the children of the community.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Forester of Wills Point;  parents, Jim and Carol Solley of Wills Point; son and daughter, Noah and Madison Forester both of which still live at home; daughters, Ashlie Forester of Dallas, and Constance “Connie” Deane Cohen and husband, Phil of Pittsburgh, Penn.; brother, James Solley and wife, Meagan of Atlanta; sister, Deanna Solley Peoples and husband, Gary of Wills Point; grandchildren, Savanah Kay and Wyatt, along with many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
