Funeral services for Bert Turner, 81, of Wills Point, were held Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2016, at Wills Point Church of Christ with Mark Turner and Bobbi Byford officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point. She passed away Saturday evening, Nov. 26, 2016, in Canton.
She was born Feb. 10, 1935, in Bowdre Township, Ill. to Art and Ruby Kearns Blaney. She was raised in Atwood, Ill. and graduated from Atwood High School in 1953. On Sept. 4, 1954, she married Robert Reynolds Turner in Tuscola, Ill. They lived in Dallas prior to moving to Wills Point in 1966. Bert was employed as office manager for the Wills Point Chronicle for 44 years, retiring in 2012. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo and reading. She was a member of the Wills Point Pilot Club and Circle Ten Council for Scouts where she was former Cub Master and Scout Master. She attended Wills Point Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Art and Ruby Blaney; and husband, Robert R. “Bob” Turner on April 4, 2011.
Survivors include her sons, Mark Turner and wife, Cathy; Kyle Turner, and Kurt Turner, all of Wills Point; daughter, Bobbi Byford and husband, Larry of Edgewood; sisters, Doris High of Terrell, Micki Blaney, and Sue Falk of Arthur, Ill.; four grandchildren, Robin Prachyl and husband, Will of Rusk, Leah Armstrong and husband, Bud of Chandler, Grant Turner of Watauga, Katie Morris and husband, Dusty of Paris;
five great-grandchildren, Delanie Armstrong, Mary-Kathryn Armstrong, Emery Armstrong, Alexis Prachyl, and Granger Prachyl; extended family member, Carol Johnson of Wills Point
Pallbearers were Brad Blakemore, David Barber, Oscar Rogers, Glen McNeil, Willie Schreffler and Joe Biggie
