“Greater Wills Point United Fund climbed 21 per cent since last Thursday to reach 45 per cent of its goal, stated Dewitt Bateman, drive chairman.”

“Jimmy Burch, 1960 graduate of Wills Point High School and Tiger football star, was elected co-captain of the freshman team at North Texas State College, Denton, last week, where he is attending on an athletic scholarship. Burch is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Burch.”
“Pat McBride, 8-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Grady McBride, received a painfully injured right foot Sunday when his foot became caught in a fertilizer distributor. Young McBride was riding the implement with an Mr. Ferguson on the Ferguson farm near Grand Saline when the accident occurred. His foot was badly cut and a bone in the foot was broken. He was carried to a Grand Saline hospital for treatment.”
“Mrs. Dave Youngblood and Mrs. D.C. Porter honored their mother, Mrs. R.D. Sinclair, on her 85th birthday Saturday with a dinner at the Youngblood home. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Edwards, Gary and Gregg, Miss Charlotte Youngblood of Dallas and Mr. and Mrs. Arlon Sutton, Sylvia and Susie of Grand Saline. Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Gabbert called during the afternoon.”
