Graveside services for Wesley Newton Holley, 74, of Wills Point, were held Oct. 6, 2016, at Grove Hill Cemetery in Dallas. Services were under direction of Hiett’s LyBrand Funeral Home. Mr. Holley passed away Oct. 3, 2016.
He was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Dallas to Dock Wesley and Mary Elizabeth Holley. He was raised in Dallas and graduated from WWW Samuel High School.
He met and married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Barbara Spikes, and they made their home in Balch Springs before he joined the Army during the Vietnam War.
He and Barbara moved to Wills Point in 1972. He worked as a butcher for Safeway and later in sales for Mission. He never met a stranger and loved gardening, playing poker and spending time with the grand kids.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, Dock and Mary Holley; a son, Jeffrey Lynn Holley and a sister, Karen Holley.
Mr. Holley is survived by his son, Bobby Holley and wife, Leann of Wills Point; grandchildren, Jordan and Brittany Holley of West Tawakoni, Brandon Davidson and wife, Stacey of Fate and William Wilson of Mesquite; great-grandchildren, Lincoln Lee Davidson, Charlee Gale Davidson and Zana and Kodi Drinning.
