Lady Tigers close 2016 season

Senior softball team members posed for a picture prior to the season finale against Brownsboro April 19. Players included: Nora Johnson, Brittany Barrett, Sierra Spindle, Lori Ellington, head coach Johna Gresham, Cheyenne Huddleston, Mireya Gonzalez, Carmen Morales and manager Taylor Mosley.

The Wills Point Lady Tigers closed their 2016 season at home Tuesday night against Brownsboro, recognizing eight senior team members appearing for the final time prior to play during Senior Night festivities.
Brownsboro and Wills Point met once before in district play, with the Lady Tigers struggling for offense in a 5-0 loss back on April 1.
Despite some solid defense all over the field, especially in the early going, Wills Point couldn’t keep pace with the Bearettes on Tuesday night in what would turn into a 12-0 loss.
The loss moves the Lady Tigers record to 0-8 overall in District 14-4A play, behind Brownsboro, Emory Rains, Canton and Van.
Lady Tiger team members for the 2016 season included Mackenzie Bolt, Sierra Spindle, Jessie Martinez, Lori Ellington, Carmen Morales, Adrianna Holland, Meredith Edwards, Cheyenne Huddleston, Mireya Gonzalez, Kamree Clark, Kaylie Willis, Nora Johnson, Deanna Donaldson, Brittany Barrett, head coach Johna Gresham, assistant coach Emily Nine and manager Taylor Mosley.
The winner of the District 14-4A softball title will be decided today (April 22) when 6-1 Canton plays host to 6-1 Van. Bi-district play for qualifying teams is scheduled to begin across the state beginning next week.
