Hall hosting electricity grid summit
Sen. Bob Hall is hosting Texas Gird Security Summit April 28 and 29 in Austin.
Hall is inviting the public to attend the event and “hear from state and national experts as they address critical security concerns from high-impact threats that could cause a nationwide critical infrastructure collapse for a month or more.”
“This summit will address the Texas electric grid’s vulnerability to electromagnetic pulse, geomagnetic solar storms and the interplay of cyber-attacks; discuss emergency preparedness and emerging protective technologies; and highlight state and federal legislative EMP protection and electric grid security efforts,” according to information from Hall’s office.
The free event sill be from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 28 and 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 29 in the Texas State Capitol Building Auditorium (E1.004), 1100 Congress Ave. in Austin.
