The Wills Point Lady Tiger softball team nearly ran the table at their home tournament March 3-5, going 5-1 overall in the three-day event to finish third overall.
Wills Point couldn’t be stopped on either the first two days of the tournament, remaining undefeated to put themselves in contention for a tournament championship heading into the final day of action.
Wills Point’s first game on the final day of the tournament, with an 8 a.m. start time, would be the only loss in an otherwise perfect run through the field.
Members of this year's team include seniors Sierra Spindle, Lori Ellington, Carmen Morales, Cheyenne Huddleston, Mireya Gonzalez, Nora Johnson and Brittany Barrett, juniors Adrianna Holland, Meredith Edwards, Kamree Clark and Kaylie Willis, sophomores Mackenzie Bolt and Deanna Donaldson and freshman Jessie Martinez.
Upcoming games for Wills Point are scheduled to include traveling to Bullard March 11 and hosting Quinlan March 15. District 14-4A play for the Lady Tigers will kick off March 18 with a visit from the Van Lady Vandals.
