Front porch perfect for Storytime
It was Storytime ‘alfresco’ at the Van Zandt County Library March 4.
Due to the renovations in the library the children enjoyed stories on the front porch.
The stories read included “Pecos Bill Invents the 10-Gallon Hat” by Kevin Strauss. This is a hilarious tall tale about Pecos Bill and his horse, Lightning.
Next was “There Once was a Cowpoke who Swallowed an Ant” by Helen Ketteman. This story is a play on the original story of the old woman who swallowed a fly.
The last book was “Larry Gets Lost in Texas” by Michael Mullin and John Skewes. The book is about a boy named Pete and his dog Larry. The two tour Texas. Then Larry gets lost but eventually they reunite at the State Fair of Texas.
All these books are available for check out at the Van Zandt County Library.
There will not be a Storytime this week due to Spring Break. Join us again for Storytime at 10 a.m. Friday, March 18.
