Tigers win second consecutive team title

The Wills Point Tiger tennis team brought home their second consecutive team championship in as many weeks last week, following their win in Kilgore Feb. 12 with a win at the Spring Hill Invitational Feb. 18.

Impressively, Wills Point registered a high point total of 119 points while playing without several key team members. Van and Spring Hill tied for second with 118 points each, followed by Nacogdoches with 88, White Oak with 81, Kilgore with 77, Grand Saline with 29 and Henderson with 27.

Medalists for Wills Point included Kolton Adams and Patrick Petzold getting first overall in boys doubles, Chase Daniell and Kelsey James getting first overall in mixed doubles, Cassidy Wilcoxson getting first overall in girls singles and Claire Hiler and Heldon Hoierman winning third overall in mixed doubles.
