Dewey Hipp, Jr. 1939-2016
Funeral services for Dewey Leon Hipp, Jr., 76, of Wills Point, were held Friday, Feb. 19, 2016, at Allan Fuller Funeral Home Chapel in Wills Point. Interment was at Small Cemetery in Edgewood.
Mr. Hipp died suddenly Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 16, 2016 at his residence in Wills Point.
He was born July 21, 1939, in Dallas, the son of Dewey Leon Hipp, Sr. and Lela Mae Malone Hipp. He was raised in Dallas, but has lived in Wills Point most of his life. On March 10, 1961, he married Judith Lorene Garner near Dallas. He was formerly employed as a carpet layer for Foster Brothers in Dallas, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Dallas Cowboys. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Leon Hipp, Sr. and Lela Mae Hipp Blount; sister, Barbara Boss; two brothers, Bobby Gene Hipp and Jackie Don Hipp; grandson, Landon Hipp; his in-laws, Wilborn Garner, Erma Garner Sloan and Herbert Sloan and his brother-in-law, Sidney Garner.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Hipp, of Wills Point; three sons, Ronald Dean Hipp, of Dallas, Donald Hipp, of Amarillo and Rocky Hipp, of Mississippi; three daughters, Cheryl Mothersell, of Campbell and Sonya Hipp, of Wills Point and Shanna Ramsey and husband, Jud, of Wills Point; brother, Larry Hipp and wife, Josie Mae, of Mobile, Ala.; sister, Pat Boss, of Houston; two brothers-in-law, Glen Garner, of Wills Point and Bobby Garner, of Wills Point; two sisters-in-law, Wanda White and husband, Forrest, of Wills Point and Franceen Parker and husband, James, of Terrell; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Glen Garner, Bobby Garner, Lacey Hipp, Rocky Hipp, Forrest White and Jud Ramsey.
