The countdown begins
The day is almost here and the countdown has officially begun.
The Van Zandt County Library will be running on a limited schedule for March.
After 23 years, new flooring will be installed in the main library, and essential services will be relocated to the Buchanan Room.
Computers, copy machine, newspapers and part of the collection of books will be available while all shelving, books and old floor covering will be removed and replaced. If you feel you can help this month, see the staff for assignments. The staff will do their best to help you during this time, but their job is more difficult, also. Be patient.
A March Storytime schedule is available, so check before you plan on coming.
The Friends of the Library will not meet on its regular day.
Members hope to be able to paint the walls during this downtime. Information on Facebook, or on the library’s website, www.vanzandtcountylibrary.com or by calling 903-567-4276 can hopefully answer your questions.
Notice that the dead plants in front of the porch at the library have been replaced with grass. This will enable the people who keep the lawn to mow right up to the porch, and eliminate the struggle to keep something growing in the bed.
Storytime at 10 a.m. Feb. 26 will be all about Dr. Seuss’ birthday party.
It is a special day, so plan to bring your preschoolers. A birthday cake and ice cream will highlight the party.
The Genealogy Society will meet at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27 as scheduled.
Be thankful for our excellent library and all the new changes that are coming to the library.
