FFA Show team participates at livestock show

WPHS FFA member Donnie J. Wood took first place overall out of 21 entrants at the Exposition and Livestock Show in Fort Worth with his Red Brahman heifer Molly Jan. 25.

The Wills Pont FFA Beef Cattle Show team traveled to Fort Worth for the Exposition and Livestock Show this past week with a record-breaking heifer show with 1,849 heifers being exhibited.

The show began Saturday morning with Tori Goggans and her Brangus heifer Emma in Class 517 where she placed 18th. Cody Tucker then entered the show ring Saturday afternoon in the Polled Hereford show with his heifer Trisha in Class 405 winning seventh place out of 17.

Sunday morning started out with Krista Lambeth coming to the ring with her heifer Kyah in the Santa Gertrudis show. Kaden Morris followed that afternoon with his Angus heifer Jilt in Class 8 winning seventh place out of 17. Logan Morris then entered the ring in Class 12 with his Angus heifer Queen winning 12th out of 40.

Monday morning began with Donnie J. Wood showing his Red Brahman heifer Molly in Class 107 winning first out of 21 heifers.

D.J. Returned to the ring for the Junior Division Champion competition and was also selected Grand Champion Showman of the entire Brahman show.

Jacob Karr finished out the show Monday afternoon with his Chimaine heifer in the Other Recorded Breeds show. Jacob competed with his heifer Sierra in Class 502 and came away with a 10th place win.
