Two more arrests made in ongoing Rolling Oaks investigation

An ongoing arson and burglary investigation by local law enforcement officials added another chapter late last week with two more arrests stemming from incidents that took place in the Rolling Oaks subdivision located near the Van Zandt and Hunt County lines in 2015.
On Jan. 15, Van Zandt County Fire Marshal Chuck Allen posted on a message on Facebook confirming the arrests of 39-year old Clark Anthony Hooser, Jr. and 30-year old Amanda Rose Scherer as part of the investigation.
The post read in part: "The VZC Fire Marshal's Office with the assistance of VZC Sheriff's Office, Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens, ATF, and Hunt County Sheriff's Office SWAT team executed a search warrant this morning in Hunt County. Clark Hoosier was taken into custody for the outstanding felony warrants in reference to the burglaries and fires in Rolling Oaks at the end of last year. The female accomplice that could only be identified as Amanda was also located during the execution of the search warrant and was identified as Amanda Scherer. Hoosier was taken to the Hunt County Justice Center to await arraignment on his criminal charges. Scherer was found to have drug paraphernalia on her and was arrested. Scherer has since had warrants issued for her out of the Fire Marshal's Office for Burglary and Engaging in Organized Crime."
Allen also offered his thanks to all assisting parties for their assistance, including those citizens that provided information via Crimestoppers.
Additional charges could also be pending as others identified as participants in the burglaries and arson fires in Rolling Oaks come to be identified.
Arrests in the ongoing investigation of the incidents date back to Nov. 24, 2015, when Allen announced the capture of 42-year old Michael Lee Burgess had been arrested Nov. 24 for a series of charges that included child endangerment, engaging in organized crime and illegal outdoor burning.
The arrest of Burgess came with a notice from the VZC Fire Marshal’s office that other parties were also being sought in reference to the investigation, including Roger Conroy, Stephanie Diann Taylor and Clark Anthony Hooser, Jr.
Taylor was apprehended through a joint effort of the VZC Sheriff’s Office and Wills Point Police Department Dec. 1 on warrants including burglary of a habitation, organized crime, and two counts of arson, and Conroy was arrested Dec. 14 in a joint effort by the VZC Fire Marshal’s Office, the VZC Sheriff’s Office, WPPD and U.S. Marshal’s Office at a residence in Rolling Oaks.
At the time of Conroy’s capture, Allen noted that “A female in the residence identified as Pamela Hess was arrested for hindering apprehension of Conroy and attempting to persuade officers that Conroy was not there. Both subjects were transported to the VZC Justice Center in Canton.”
