Calvary Baptist Church to show “War Room”
Calvary Baptist Church will be showing the award winning Christian movie “War Room” on Sunday, Jan. 10. This is from the creators of the Christian movies “Fireproof” and “Courageous”. “War Room” is a compelling faith drama filled with humor and heart that became the number one movie in the United States.
Tony and Elizabeth Jordan have it all – great jobs, a beautiful daughter and their dream house. But appearances can be deceiving. Their world is actually crumbling under the strain of a failing marriage. While Tony basks in his professional success, Elizabeth resigns herself to increasing bitterness. But their lives take an unexpected turn when Elizabeth meets her newest client, Miss Clara, and is challenged to establish a “War Room” and a battle plan of prayer for her family. As Elizabeth tries to fight for her family, Tony’s hidden struggles come to light. Tony must decide if he will make amends with his family and prove Miss Clara’s wisdom with victories that come by accident.
“ ‘War Room’ is not only a motivating film, but one that calls for action. You will laugh. You will cry, but not because of sadness but because of recognizing the power of answered prayer. The whole movie is a demonstration of what a prayer life looks like and also what it looks like when we make disciples as Jesus commanded. It is a motive made for the church,” said church organizers.
Pastor Gene Lindsey and the members of Calvary Baptist Church invite the public to attend the showing of “War Room” beginning at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 10. Calvary Baptist is located at 800 Tawakoni Drive in Wills Point.
