Jonathan Henson 1955-2015
Funeral services for Jonathan Bryan Herman Henson, 60, of Commerce, were held Dec. 28, 2015, at First United Methodist Church in Cooper with Jason Cunningham officiating.
Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ben Franklin under the direction of Allan Fuller Funeral Home in Wills Point.
Mr. Henson died Dec. 23, 2015, at his home of 35 years.
He was born Jan. 28, 1955, in Athens the son of Robert Kingston Henson and Pamela Elizabeth VanScoy Henson. He was raised in Cooper.
In 1973, he graduated from Cooper High School and later attended Paris Junior College. On Sept. 4, 1976, he married Marilyn Kay Fuller in Wills Point.
He was formerly employed by Campbell Soup Company, the City of Commerce and was deputy sheriff for the Hunt County Sheriff’s Department for several years. He was of the Methodist faith.
Mr. Henson captivated audiences through storytelling and jokes. He always knew how to bring a smile to the faces of the ones he loved and his generosity was known by all who surrounded him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Pamela Henson; uncle and aunt, Big Bryan and Bernice Sparks.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Henson of Commerce; two sons, Bryan Henson and wife, Leigh-Ann of Waco and Wade Henson and Megan Wilson of Austin; daughter, Holly Nutt and husband, Chris of Campbell; two granddaughters, Stella Nutt of Campbell and Heidi Henson of Waco; three brothers, Robert Sparks Henson and wife, Sara of Montgomery, Van William Henson and wife, Emmy of Shreveport, La. and Neil Hamilton Henson and wife, Marva of Henrietta, Okla.; one sister, Lucia Bunch and husband, Randy of Paris; mother-in-law, Allye H. Fuller of Wills Point; aunt, Sara Howell of Wills Point; pets, Dog Army North; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Richard Hill, Chris Nutt, Jason Cunningham, Shane Fuller, Dane Benningfield and Selby Fuller.
